The Blog is Back

Praise the lord or more specifically Ian, I've fixed my blog. That's right I did my homework to a decent standard and on time and what happens, it won't publish my blog, so after asking I.T skilled people and consulting my massive brain I came up with nothing. Ian on the other hand suggested changing my template and it worked, dam him it actually worked.

So my narrative review homework is published several days late and I've been without a working blog for a while but I'm back baby and better than ever.

Clip Review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2ZOthbZ0eYThis is a selection of out takes from Starwars, this is funny because it has lot's of different, quick jokes that you can keep laughing at each time they are shown. This works well because it is new, interesting and it has an established audience with star wars fans but you don't have to be a fan to enjoy it.People like watching the out takes because it makes the actors seem more real and normal so that people can relate to them better.

Last Clip Review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPTU1jNXe-c
I decided that watching an advert would help give me a wider perspective on narratives and the different genres of film there are out there.

I chose this one because it is very different from most of the other adverts out there, I like the use of imagination and originality. This creates interest in the product, advert and company, it is something to discuss with other people. I also think that it is very funny and I'm a big fan of comedy. An advert like this is more likely to get me to think about the product and maybe bye the product than most of the boring, sensible adverts out there as well as the completely insane adverts that have nothing to do with the product, I don't think they work well either.

Clip Review #3

This is a compilation of clips from the Matrix Reloaded film, I think that it is different and because of that I think it is pretty interesting.

The choice of music works extremely well and the fast action keeps people interested, I watch the first two minutes to fit in with this assignment and I enjoyed it enough to recommend it to friends. This sort of compilation is pretty difficult to do but it is extremely worth while as it interests a large number of people and especially with the rise of the Internet clips like this are being shown all around the world.

Clip review 2

This is a trailer for the original Die Hard film, I like it because it's fast paced, catchy with a good voice over and it uses a variety of angles, shots and effects.

I like the build up of tension and the various clips from the film that they show, I've seen this film many times and I think the trailer works well and prepares people for the experience ahead.

Blog mark 2

Oh my god I'm doing work out side of class time and it's not a specific task for a specific deadline. I'm so proud of myself.

It seems fate has landed my a decent group for Narratives which makes a hell of a big difference. I missed some of the early lectures because I didn't understand the timetable at the time and because I missed one lecture that meant I didn't know about another which i thought I missed then turned out that wasn't on any way so after laying down to let all of this crazy information set in I headed down to the boots library and emailed my group, and you know what I got a response and not just 1 but a few of them. So needless to say I'm very happy, and this SPP1 project gives me an excuse to go on the computer and seeing as I don't have my laptop from the DSA yet I have to either ask people in the halls or travel 20-30 mins here to get online.

I'm going through geek withdrawal here, I've gone a week without owning a computer and it's killing me. However I still manage to find time to sort my powerpoint presentation for tutor group, order a student rail card, do a second blog for SPP1, try and sort my TV licence because they don't seem to like where I live, do some online shopping and slowly go mad.
